Note from Artist: "Birds of Paradise" painting came from wanting to do a realism piece after a lot of abstract. I wanted something striking and colourful, and birds or paradise plants are so dramatic and structural. I really enjoyed creating this painting and working with colour on a black background for ultimate contrast. I love that this painting is a mix of realism and abstract, and particularly love the shapes in the background on the black. There is so much beauty in nature and finding your own style to create it in a painting can be challenging but very rewarding."
